THE SOUND OF OUD

The Oud is a fretless, short-necked lute and one of the most distinctive instruments of Middle Eastern music. Its rounded wooden body and warm, resonant tone give it a rich and expressive sound. Played with a risha (plectrum), the Oud allows for detailed ornamentation, fluid melodic movement, and expressive improvisation.
